Songyun Tao is currently a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at Dartmouth college, and now he is advised by Dr. Elizabeth Murnane and a member of Empower Lab.

He was a master's student in Information Science at Cornell University and he receiveda bachelor's degree in Computer Science at UC Davis.

He gradually developed a great interest in Ubiquitous Computing and Human-Computer Interaction when researching in Sci-Fi lab with Professor Cheng. During research, he gained skills such as 3D printing and prototyping, ML/DL application, visualization, sensor data processing, and, more importantly, how to start research from an idea.

His research interests are embedding technology of ubiquitous computing into daily form factors and wearables, exploring new methods to fetch data from human behaviors, and how people can use these new devices to interact with intelligent systems such as computers, robots, or each other.
